TC180 Four-Piston Diaphragm Pump

TC Series four-piston diaphragm pump for sanitary and biopharmaceutical applications

Overview

The TC180 Four-Piston Diaphragm Pump is designed for sanitary fluid transfer applications requiring stable flow, low pulsation, and low shear, with a hygienic design supporting effective cleaning. It is well suited for biopharmaceutical processing, laboratory systems, and other hygienic process environments where product purity, reliability, and cleanability are critical.

With a flow range of 0.02–3 L/min and a maximum operating pressure of 6 bar, the TC180 provides precise and consistent pumping performance in compact sanitary systems. Its wetted materials are selected for hygienic compatibility, and the pump structure is designed to support clean operation, simple maintenance, and reliable long-term use.

The TC180 can be configured either as an integrated TC-S smart pump system for laboratory and process development use, or as a pump head for integration into externally controlled process systems. This allows the same pump model to be used across standalone laboratory applications as well as OEM or system-level integration.

Key Technical Advantages

  • Gentle, low-shear transfer suitable for sensitive biologics and aqueous solutions
  • Very low pulsation characteristics supporting stable and repeatable flow control
  • PTFE diaphragm providing excellent chemical resistance and hygienic performance
  • Pump head capable of withstanding up to 10 bar instantaneous pressure shock
  • Ball-driven transmission design supporting efficient torque transfer and stable operation
  • Linear speed-flow relationship enabling predictable flow adjustment
  • Self-priming capability supporting flexible system integration
  • Hygienic design suitable for CIP and SIP processes

Typical Applications

The TC180 is suitable for a range of sanitary and bioprocess applications, including:

Speed-Flow Characteristics

The figure below shows the speed-flow characteristic curves of the TC180 pump under different operating pressures, using purified water at room temperature as the test medium.

The relationship between speed and flow is essentially linear, demonstrating stable and predictable flow performance across the operating range. The adjustable speed range is 20–2700 rpm, and the maximum flow rate can exceed 3 L/min under appropriate operating conditions.

The linear relationship between speed and flow enables stable, predictable, and controllable fluid transfer performance across a wide operating range.
